Dr. Vijesh Krishnamoorthy is an accomplished academic leader, researcher, and ICT professional with more than 15 years of international experience across higher education, corporate training, and academic administration. His career spans India, Papua New Guinea, China, Ghana, and Malawi, reflecting a truly global contribution to teaching, research, and leadership in the ICT domain. He currently serves as Chairperson – Department of Information Technology and Computer Science at the Innovative University of Enga (Papua New Guinea), where he leads curriculum innovation, program development, faculty mentoring, and industry engagement, ensuring alignment with global standards and accreditation frameworks.

Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Information Technology (BSc: AIT) is a 4-year degree designed for you to be at the forefront of technology and innovation.

You’ll learn programming and databases, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and ICT project management—while also gaining exposure to leadership, business analytics, and entrepreneurship.

Graduates will be able to:

Duration:

4 years full-time (8 semesters).

Study Mode:

Face-to-face learning supplemented with blended/online delivery, labs, industry projects, and internships.

  • Completion of Grade 12 Higher School Certificate with passes in English, Mathematics, and a Science subject (ICT/Physics/Advanced Math preferred).
  • Minimum GPA 2.6 (subject to DHERST cut-off adjustments).
Year 1:

University foundation courses + IT basics (Academic writing, Mathematics, Digital foundations, Programming fundamentals, Business basics).

Year 2:

Core ICT (Networks, Databases, Web development, OOP, Systems & IoT lab, Professional ethics, Statistics).

Year 3:

Advanced IT & Professional practice (Software engineering, Data structures, Cybersecurity foundations, ICT project management, Business analytics, Information security, Telecommunication networks).

Year 4:

Specialization & Industry readiness (Cloud computing, Cybersecurity operations, Ethical hacking, Internship, Capstone I & II, Professional development II).

Aligned with DHERST credit hour standards, each semester carries 15–17 credits (total 120–140 credits).

Apply through the National Online Application System (NOAS) administered by DHERST. Select BSc Applied IT as your preference.

Non-School Leavers (NSL)

Submit application directly to the University with certified transcripts, GPA evidence, and supporting references.

International Students

Submit transcripts, passport details, English proficiency evidence, and police clearance directly to admissions.

Pay the application fee and meet the DHERST/University deadlines (usually Aug–Sept for Semester 1 intake).
