Mr. Siba Co-Authors Key Malaria Study in PNG Highlands

  • In another major publication, Mr. Valentine Siba, the Head of Strand for Biology, has co-authored a pivotal 2025 paper in the highly respected Malaria Journal, published by Springer Nature.
  • The research, “A combined school survey and reactive case detection reveals minimal local transmission of malaria in the Highlands Region of Papua New Guinea,” provides crucial new data on malaria prevalence. The study’s findings are a significant breakthrough, suggesting that local transmission of the disease in the Highlands is surprisingly low. This research has critical implications for public health strategies and malaria control efforts in the region.
