IUE Joins Papua New Guinea in Celebrating 51 Years of Independence
16 September 2026 | Innovative University of Enga
Celebrating Our Journey, Honouring Our Heritage, Inspiring Our Future
As Papua New Guinea celebrates its 51st Independence Anniversary, the Innovative University of Enga (IUE) proudly joins the nation in commemorating this special milestone.
For 51 years, Papua New Guinea has travelled a remarkable journey as an independent nation. Our story is one of rich cultures, strong traditions, resilience, diversity and the determination of our people to build a better future.
At IUE, we believe that education is at the heart of nation-building. Every student represents hope for the future, every lecturer who shares knowledge helps shape tomorrow’s leaders, and every staff member who serves the University contributes to the development of our institution and our nation.
A Special Thank You to Those Who Serve Enga and Papua New Guinea
As we celebrate Independence, the Innovative University of Enga also wishes to recognize and sincerely thank the expatriate professionals and staff members who have travelled far from their own countries and families to serve the people of Enga Province and Papua New Guinea.
Leaving one’s homeland to work, teach, lead and contribute to the development of another community is a significant commitment. Their knowledge, experience, dedication and friendship have become part of the growing story of IUE, Enga Province and Papua New Guinea as a whole.
To all our expatriate colleagues: thank you for choosing to serve Enga. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, your experience and your time with our people. Your contribution is valued, respected and appreciated.
We also extend a special acknowledgement to Dr Brian Davis for his leadership, commitment and service to the University. His contribution and guidance have helped support the University’s development and its vision for a stronger future.
Our IUE Family
Independence is a celebration for everyone. IUE extends its warmest greetings to our students, lecturers, academic staff, non-academic staff, support staff, expatriate colleagues, alumni, families and the wider IUE community.
As we celebrate, let us remember the values that unite us as Papua New Guineans: unity, respect, responsibility, resilience, culture and service.
The 51st Independence Anniversary is also a moment to look forward. The next chapter of Papua New Guinea’s story belongs to today’s young people, and education will play an important role in preparing them to lead, innovate and serve their communities.
As an institution committed to Empowering Knowledge, Inspiring Innovation and Building Future Leaders, IUE is proud to contribute to Papua New Guinea’s development and to be part of Enga Province’s future.
From our classrooms and lecture halls to our offices, campuses, laboratories, sporting fields and student activities, every member of the IUE community has a role to play in building a better tomorrow.
🇵🇬 Happy 51st Independence Anniversary, Papua New Guinea! 🇵🇬
May we honour our past, celebrate our heritage, appreciate those who serve our communities, and work together for a stronger and brighter Papua New Guinea.
From the entire Innovative University of Enga family, we wish all Papua New Guineans a safe, proud and memorable 51st Independence Anniversary.
ONE PEOPLE. ONE NATION. ONE FUTURE.
