
Hall Administrator
ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Supervisor for Residence Life and Housing
Supervises: Cleaning Staff, Student Staff
Coordinates with: Division of Student Services Team
PURPOSE
The Hall Administrator serves as the professional staff member who resides within each residence hall. They are the first point of contact for students with any issues or needs relating to living on campus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Resides in their assigned residence hall; must be present 5 nights per week (to be coordinated by the Supervisor for Residence Life and Housing)
.
• Supervises student staff and cleaning staff.
• Works outside of normal business hours when needed.
• Keeps track of rosters, room changes, and information on the residents of their building.
• Coordinates with the Office of Student Life for events and programming for students in the halls.
• Refer students to appropriate staff for issues not related to residence life.
• Perform other functions that may be assigned or delegated by the Director of Student Life or the Supervisor for Residence Life and Housing.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge – of PNG culture, psychology, religious and spiritual needs.
- Skills – Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, email); people skills; ability to coordinate group activities of academic, social or religious nature; ability to solve grievances and conflicts, and to maintain harmony among people from different cultures and backgrounds; disciplined and able to discipline others; ability to work as part of a team; ability to be a moral guide.
- Work Experience – Life experience that would benefit the unique role.
- Preferred Experience – Experience with any type of group living environment.
