I am Jeffery Saina Tumu, a results-driven Human Resource professional with over a decade of experience across public sector, non-government organizations and higher education. I hold a Master’s in Economic & Public Policy, a Bachelor in Business Management (HR), and a Bachelor of Arts (Language & Communication), complemented by numerous short professional courses in HR and law from Papua New Guinea Human Resource Institute. My career journey spans high-level HR leadership, policy development, recruitment, contract administration, and employee relations, most recently serving as Director of Human Resources at the Innovative University of Enga, where I actively contribute towards the amalgamation of three state institutions through roundtable dialogue with Department of Personnel (DPM) and Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST).
I bring a proven track record in creating tailored employment policies and contracts, leading recruitment panels, and collaborating with government agencies on workforce initiatives. My technical skills include HR manual writing, remuneration management, and solving employee conflicts and grievousness compliance with relevant employment law. I am adept at leveraging technology for HR operations, with proficiency in the payroll systems.
Recognized for my effective communication, innovative thinking, and leadership capabilities, I am committed to fostering a positive work environment and driving organizational growth. My personal interests include reading, intellectual discussion, travel, and sports, further enhancing my ability to engage and lead diverse teams. I am eager to contribute meaningfully to Innovative University of Enga in terms of best Human Resource Practices for its advancement going forward.
