
The Honourable Prime Minister James Marape, Marks 50th Independence in Enga with University Recognition and K48 Million Boost for Province
During the recent celebration of Papua New Guinea’s 50th anniversary of independence from Australia, Prime Minister James Marape visited Enga Province to mark the historic occasion. In his address, the Prime Minister warmly welcomed Innovative University of Enga President Dr. Brian Davis and his wife, Nadya, to the stage to acknowledge their dedicated service to the people of Enga.
Prime Minister Marape reaffirmed his government’s continued support for the Innovative University of Enga, emphasizing that the university is a national institution supported jointly by the Enga Provincial Government and the National Government in Port Moresby.
As part of the celebration, the Enga Provincial Government received a cheque for K48 million from the New Porgera Mining Company. These funds are designated for infrastructure development throughout the province, and it is anticipated that the Innovative University of Enga will be among the key beneficiaries of this investment.
