Location: Innovative University of Enga – Primary Campus, with responsibilities across
all campuses
Reports To: Director of Athletics

Position Summary

The Basketball Coach is responsible for planning and delivering basketball training
programs, developing student-athletes, preparing university teams for competitions,
and promoting teamwork, discipline, leadership, physical fitness, and holistic student
development.

Key Duties & Responsiblilities

• Plan and conduct regular basketball training sessions.
• Develop students’ basketball skills, fitness, and tactical understanding.
• Prepare teams for inter-university competitions, tournaments, and other
  approved sporting events.
• Promote teamwork, leadership, discipline, sportsmanship, and academic
  balance.
• Ensure safe training practices, injury prevention, and appropriate first-aid
  arrangements.
• Uphold university policies on student welfare, safeguarding, inclusion, and
  professional conduct.
• Maintain training attendance, player records, match results, and equipment
  inventory.
• Coordinate with the Sports Coordinator on schedules, facilities, equipment, and
  competition arrangements.
• Submit regular reports on team performance, student participation, and program
  development.

Qualifications and Experience

• Recognized basketball coaching certification or equivalent coaching credentials.
• Demonstrated experience in basketball coaching and team management.
• Knowledge of basketball rules, training methods, and injury prevention.
• Experience coaching at university, club, provincial, or national level.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions

• Duties may include evening, weekend, and competition-day activities.
