
IUE Appoints Dr. Matthew Hall as Dean of Health Sciences

The Innovative University of Enga (IUE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Matthew Hall as Dean of the College of Health Sciences and Professor of Psychology, based at the Sopas Campus.
Dr. Hall brings more than a decade of academic leadership, research, and program development experience across the United Kingdom, the Middle East, and Central Asia. He joins IUE from KIMEP University in Kazakhstan, where he served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychology and then as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the College of Human Sciences and Education. He previously held posts as Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Department at the British University in Egypt, Programme Director and Interim Head of School at Arden University, and research positions at Ulster University, Lancaster University, and Nottingham Trent University.
A social psychologist, Dr. Hall’s research examines gender, health, body image, and technology-facilitated violence. He is the author or editor of five books with Routledge and Palgrave Macmillan, has published widely in journals including Violence Against Women, Journal of Health Psychology, and Journal of Business Ethics, and served as an editor of the Journal of Gender Studies for a decade. His work has been funded by the ESRC, the European Union, and the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, and has informed UK parliamentary committees and the Law Commission.
IUE President Dr. Brian Davis welcomed the appointment.

when the College of Health Sciences is growing quickly. His experience leading departments and colleges
through accreditation, together with a research record of international standing, makes him the right leader
to take the College forward at Sopas.”
Dr. Hall has led the design and accreditation of psychology programs in the United Kingdom, Egypt, and Kazakhstan. He holds a PhD in Social Psychology from Nottingham Trent University, master’s degrees from Arden University and the Open University, and a BA (Hons) from the University of the West of England. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
The College of Health Sciences, home to the Department of Nursing, is based at the Sopas Campus and prepares graduates for health careers across Enga Province and Papua New Guinea.
