Job Description:

Position Title: Rugby Coach
Department: Sports / Athletics Department
Employment Type: Contract/ Full-Time
Location: Innovative University of Enga – Primary Campus, with responsibilities across
all campuses
Reports To: Director of Athletics
Supervises: University Rugby Team / Student-Athletes

Position Purpose

The Rugby Coach is responsible for coaching, developing and managing the University
Rugby Team. The Coach will support student-athletes in achieving their sporting
potential while promoting discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, student wellbeing and
academic balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct regular rugby training sessions.
• Develop players’ technical, tactical, physical and teamwork skills.
• Select and prepare teams for university and external competitions.
• Develop training and competition plans throughout the season.
• Monitor player performance, attendance, fitness and development.
• Promote discipline, sportsmanship and a positive team culture.
• Ensure training and competition activities follow University policies and safety
  requirements.
• Supportstudent-athlete wellbeing and safeguarding.
• Coordinate with the Director of Athletics on competitions, travel, equipment and
  other team requirements.
• Provide regular updates and reports on team performance and development.
• Represent Innovative University of Enga professionally at competitions and
  sporting events.

Qualifications & Experience

• Recognized rugby coaching qualification or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience coaching rugby at school, club, university or representative
  level.
• Strong knowledge of rugby coaching, training and player development.
• Good communication, leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with university students.
• First Aid/Sports First Aid qualification is desirable.
• Rugby Level 2 Coaching Certificate or an equivalent recognized rugby coaching
  qualification is added
